How do I arrange for an estimate for my forthcoming removal?
Please call Camp Hopson Removals for further details, office hours are 7.30am 5.30pm and arrange for our representative to call and discuss your requirements. Or alternatively please complete our on line form.
How much notice must I give to book a date for packing?
We recommend that you give a minimum of 2 weeks notice, although if this is not possible we will endeavor to meet your requirements. Ideally, as soon as you know when you want to move you should confirm dates with us.
How do I pack my things?
Camp Hopson Removals offers you the choice of packing all your glass, china and sundry items for the removal yourself.
Or should you wish Camp Hopson Removals to pack these items for removal for you. They will bring all the necessary packing materials themselves in order to undertake the task.
We do however strongly recommend that you take advantage of our professional packing service. We employ highly qualified staff to perform this skilled task.
If you would to prefer to undertake packing for the removal yourself Camp Hopson Removals will supply various types of packaging materials to help you with your move. The packing cartons can be supplied on a free loan basis, providing you collect them, and return them within seven days of the completion of the removal. All consumable packing materials such as packing paper and tape will need to be purchased from us.
Do you provide storage?
Yes!. We are able to offer first class containerised storage at highly competitive rates to suit individual requirements.
What about insurance?
We will normally accept full liability for loss of or damage to your goods whilst in our custody or control, and we cover this liability with our insurers. Full details of this are contained in our terms and conditions which are issued with our estimate.
The remover will need to know the value of the consignment before he compiles his quotation for your removal in order for him to build in a cost for that value to be moved and he will arrange with his insurers to cover that value on his own liability insurance cover.
If however you are unable to give this valuation immediately then the removal cost can be adjusted later, but prior to the move taking place.

When do I pay?
We ask for full payment prior to the removal. If you wish to pay by cheque please ensure that this is with us 10 days before your move. Alternatively we will take most major credit cards or a debit card.
What do I do 4 weeks before moving?
File a change of address form with the Post Office for each person receiving mail at your home.
Notify creditors, magazines, and book and record clubs of your new address.
Contact doctors and dentists for your family’s medical records.
Get copies of renewable prescriptions.
Decide which items should be discarded or donated to charity.
Notify your local utilities to have your service turned off after your departure.
Contact utilities at your new home for connections.
Notify your children’s schools, your church, clubs and any other organisations of your impending move.
What do I do 3 weeks before moving?
Sketch out the floor plan of your new home to determine placement of furnishings.
Make a list of names, addresses and numbers you will need or want to remember.
Pack your local phone book and Yellow Pages so you can contact businesses after your move.
Notify Camp Hopson Removals if you have changed anything about your move; household goods, destination, dates of the move, etc.
Make arrangements to move your plants and pets.
Transfer contents of safety deposit box.
What do I do 2 weeks before moving?
Plan your trip to your new destination. (Make travel arrangements, and if driving, have your car serviced.)
Return borrowed things, and collect things you’ve loaned.
Dispose of flammables such as petrol, matches, cleaning fluids, bleach, pressurised or aerosol cans.
Discontinue regular services such as newspaper, window cleaning, etc.
If moving your TV antenna or satellite dish, make arrangements to have it taken down.
What do I do 1 week before moving?
Transfer bank and savings accounts so you don’t lose interest.
Make arrangements to discontinue your local telephone service. (Your local telephone company can help you establish phone service at your new home.)
Determine which items you’re taking with you.
If doing your own packing, pack these items and set aside in a designated area.
Use up your frozen food supply or give it away.
Drain the fuel from lawnmowers and other power equipment.
What do I do 1 day before moving?
Pack a box of things you’ll need as soon as you arrive at your new home. (This might include non-aerosol cleaning supplies, disposable plates and cups, light disposable plates and cups, light tools, snacks, bathroom items and bin bags.)
Take this box with you or have the driver load it last and unload first.
This is usually the day packing is done. Make sure all packing services have been performed before you sign for them.
Defrost, thoroughly clean and dry refrigerator.
What do I do moving day?
Be on hand when the Camp Hopson Removals crew arrives and throughout the loading process. (If you can’t be there, make sure someone can to direct the movers.
Make sure the driver has in writing the name and phone number of that person.
Accompany the driver during inventory. Check on the condition of your goods as they are loaded.
Make a final tour of your home. See that nothing is overlooked.
Sign the bill of lading and make sure your new address and phone number are correct.
Lock all windows and doors, and turn off all switches.
